We have a Special Care Unit, which has 41 beds dedicated to our dementia residents with a covered veranda and secure sensory outdoor area for the residents enjoyment.

Algester Lodge is nestled in a bushland setting with landscaped gardens. Outdoor seating around the bird feeder or pergolas makes for pleasant visiting areas that our residents love.

Spiritual and Cultural

Algester Lodge has a chapel for use by residents and religious representatives of residents for conducting worship. Ministers of various religions visit the facility and conduct services on a regular basis. It is a residents choice whether they wish to go to any religious services.

If a resident wishes to see their religious representative at any time, their Registered Nurse can arrange this.

A fully qualified Diversional Therapist designs individual programs for all residents, covering physical, social, cultural, spiritual, mental and emotional activities.

Residents’ preferences and abilities are taken into consideration when implementing activities, facilitated by a monthly resident and family meeting.
